A COMMON MISTAKE ...
A common mistake many website owners make is to let the website just "take care of itself" once it's up and running. Regardless of how technically advanced your website is, every website needs regular maintenance.

UPDATES ARE VITAL ...
If you're using a Content Management System, like Joomla or WordPress (and you really should be), then it is vitally important to keep your website updated with the latest security patches and software updates. There's absolutely nothing worse than having your website hacked! You don’t have to have an important website or running e-commerce for hackers to want to break into your website.

HOW TO GET HACKED ...
One of the primary ways a hacker will gain access to a website is through outdated software (i.e. the Content Management System, Extensions, Plug-ins, and Widgets). As security patches become available, hackers will try to take advantage of those not pro-active in keeping their website updated. For a church, it can be embarrassing for people to be redirected to a male enhancement or a pornography website. Additionally, the last thing you want is for your visitors to get a virus directly downloaded from one of your webpages! An Internet Service Provider (ISP)(i.e. your Web host), will likely shut your website down, if any malware is detected on your website. Google will likewise de-list your website until repaired.

OTHER REALLY GOOD REASONS ...
Being pro-active on your security and software updates are not the only important reasons to have a good Website Maintenance Plan. Here are some others: 1) To keep people interested with fresh material, new products, services, solutions, and engaging features; 2) To keep the website working well by fixing broken external and internal links, plus insuring installed components are working properly; 3) To keep up with changing web technology; and 4) To maintain search engine rankings; just to name a few.

WE REALLY CARE ABOUT CHURCHES ...
We care about the Church, it's mission, and each one of our clients. We go the "extra mile" to insure each website is properly cared for. FAQs on Monthly Service Agreements

  • What kind of websites need a Maintenance Plan?

ANSWER: All websites, regardless of how it was designed. For example, HTML, PHP, Joomla CMS, Drupal, Adobe Dreamweaver, etc. A website is an online reflection of your church, organization, or business. Without routine maintenance and updating, it will fade from a visitor's use, interest, and fail in it's intended purpose. Our Monthly Service Agreement Plans are designed to provide the routine maintenance and updating a website needs to stay updated, functional, and relevant.

  • How do I get started with a Monthly Website Service Agreement?

ANSWER: Getting started is easy. FIRST, based on the size of your church and the amount of features installed on your website (i.e. blog, bookstore, sermon library, galleries, message boards, and other Great Ideas) choose a Monthly Website Maintenance Service Plan. SECOND, click "Sign-Up" button below the selected plan. Clicking the Sign-Up button will take you to the Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement Sign-Up webpage. THIRD, read the Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement, in the web "window" on the Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement webpage, and complete the "online" Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement form. FORTH, fill in the ReCaptcha code and click the "Send" button. The information from the "online" Monthly Service Agreement form will be sent directly to our office. If we have no questions, an E-mail Invoice will be sent. A representative will be in touch with information on further steps.

  • Do I have to have a PayPal Account to sign-up?

ANSWER: No. However, The Church Webmaster uses PayPal to process all online payments. You can use your debit card or credit card (PayPal Account not necessary) or make a payment using your PayPal Account. Even though, a PayPal account is not necessary, during the payment process, you will be offered a PayPal Account. You don't have to sign up, but PayPal is one of the most trusted and easy to use payment systems on the Internet. Processing your payment through PayPal is easy, free, and completely secure. See videos below.

  • Can I change my Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement Plan?

ANSWER: Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your service under the terms of the Agreement. Currently, when an Agreement is changed, the former Agreement is canceled and a new Agreement is established with the desired services. Please feel free to Contact Us with any questions.

  • What if the changes I require are not listed in the Website Maintenance Service Agreement Tasks listed above?

ANSWER: If any service you require is not mentioned under Monthly Service Agreement Tasks, please Contact Us.

  • What if I use up all the hours in the Website Maintenance Service Agreement Plan I choose?

ANSWER: Each month our clients are automatically billed based on the Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement Plan they've selected. When the number of hours in the selected plan are exhausted, a separate invoice will be sent for any additional hours based on the Additional Labor Rate assigned to your selected plan. If needed, our clients can buy more hours, based on the Additional Labor Rate. If exhausting the hours in your plan becomes a pattern, we recommend upgrading your plan to a Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement Plan that will be more cost effective.

  • How long will it take to complete a service request on my website?

ANSWER: It depends on the amount of change requests we have received and the size of your request. However, usually all changes are completed within 24 hours. Upon receiving the your request, we will confirm the turnaround time. Thank you.

  • What if my website requires an installation of a component like the ones in Great Ideas?

ANSWER: Installations, any component or feature additions to a website, are invoiced separately from any Monthly Website Maintenance Service Agreement. Depending on the component or feature, and the necessary hours to service the feature, an upgrade to your Monthly Website Maintenance Service Plan may be necessary.

  • Why do I need routine website maintenance?

ANSWER: A common mistake website owners make is to believe once their website is up and running, it can take care of itself. Regardless of how advanced the website, all websites need regular attention. Reasons include insuring the website, and it's components, are up-to-date with the latest software patches, security updates, and bug fixes; to fix broken external and internal links to insure proper operation; testing the various e-forms; to analyze website statistics; back-up and archive the current website and it's database; adding content and features to keep visitors interested and to give them a reason to return.

  • When I get an invoice, do I have to pay online?

ANSWER: No. Although The Church Webmaster prefers it's clients to use, and pay online through the PayPal email invoice, you can use Internet Banking or simply pay by check. Please see Payment Policies. Thank you.

  • Can I have several websites on a single plan?

ANSWER: Only for clients who have signed up for The Executive and Professional Plans.
